Handball : MPSC women team, KVWA clinch champions titles

IMPHAL, May 16: KVWA Mayang Imphal (Men)  and MPSC (women) emerged champions of the 46th Senior Men and Women State Level Handball Championship 2024.
In the women's final at Lilong Mairenkhong MRC Ground, MPSC beat YLK Chingarel Tejpur 22-17.
L Nomika of YLK was named the best woman player and Th Priyadarsini was named best goal keeper.
Ch Luxmi and M Dimple scored 7 goals each for MPSC as Shandhyarani and Apabi added three each. Sunibala and Sushila scored one each.
For YLK Chingarel, L Nomita scored 6 goals, Y Monoka scored 5 goals, K Soniya scored 4. Berlice and Roshni scored one each.
In the men's final, KVWA Mayang Imphal beat MPSC 32-23.
Ratankumar of KVWA was named the best player while O Tomba was named the best goal keeper.
For KVWA Mayang Imphal, Ratankumar scored 10 goals, Kiranjit scored 5 while Manichandra scored 3.
Tondonba and Shitaljit scored 2 goals each.
Samual, Mocha, Naresh, Yaiphaba and Bigyananda scored one each.
For MPSC, Robi scored 8, Becker scored 6, Saratchandra and Sushil scored 3 each and Ingocha, Okendro and Hemanta scored one each.
