IMPHAL, May 18 : St Paul's High School have sealed the U-15 boys title of the Chandel District Level Inter School Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournaments organised by DYASO Chandel.
In the U-15 boys final staged this afternoon at Chandel Christian Sports Complex, St Paul's High School clinched a dominating 4-0 win over Oak Hill Hill School to book a place in the State Level tournament.
St Paul's started the game on a bright note staging a series of incisive runs and got into the front after 9 minutes with Lenpa finding the back of the net.
To the team's delight, Richard found the second goal in the 15th minute to enter into the break with a 2-0 lead.
After the restart, Khumringam netted the third goal in the 40th minute before Lungir rounded off the scoring five minutes later.
Earlier in the first semi-final match of the U-17 girls football tournament that began at 7 am, Anallon Christian Institute (ACI) beat St Peter's Higher Secondary School 2-1 on penalties after a 3-3 regulation time draw.
SR Alphani (23', 49', 54') scored all three goals for St Peter's Higher Secondary School in the regulation time as Mahaila (13', 35') and Gracemi (57') scored it for ACI to draw level and stretched the game to penalty shoot-out.
In the shoot-out only Imnasenla scored it for St Peter's Higher Secondary School while Gracemi and Jongnitha found the target for the winners.
Meanwhile in the second semi-final match of the U-17 boys tournament staged earlier in the morning from 8.30 am, Federer and Changkingam scored three goals apiece to give St Peter's Higher Secondary School a commanding 6-0 win over Oriental Academy.
St Peter's HSS went into the break confidently with a 4-0 lead with Federer (3',19') and Changkingam (29', 30+2') scoring two successive goals.
After the restart, Changkingam completed his hat-trick in the 42nd minute before Federer too completed his treble in the 55th minute and finished off the game 6-0 to set up a final date with Maha Union Government Higher Secondary School.
