THAU crush FORCE by 8 wickets in 3rd Senior Women's One Day Trophy opener

IMPHAL, May 18 : THAU, Thangmeiband hammered FORCE, Kshetrigao by 8 wickets in the opening match of the 3rd Senior Women's One Day Trophy 2023-24 here at THAU ground.
The tournament organised by the Manipur Cricket Association is featuring 7 teams. Top two teams after round robin league will qualify for the final.
FORCE won the toss and opted to bat first today. They however had to regret their decision to bat first as they were bundled out for 51 runs in 25 overs and THAU took just 8.3 overs to seal the victory with 8 wickets left to spare.
Bunty Khoibam (4/22 in 7 overs) and Monica Ningthoujam (3/4 in 5 overs) set up the FORCE batting collapse sharing 7 wickets between them while Niruta Thoudam, Meri Keithellakpam and Hijam Malemkhombi picked a wicket apiece.
Only Barkatun Khanam 13 was the double digit run getter for FORCE in their innings.
In reply, THAU lost Seterny Brahmacharimayum (0) and Ronibala Chanu (9) cheaply to Khadija of FORCE before Kalpana 28 and Niruta 6 took the team to winning 52 in the 9th over.
Bunty who starred with a four wicket haul was adjudged player of the match.
The second match between YPHUC, Lalambung and PTCC, Patsoi at Kongba Dhobi Lampak was abandoned due to rain shortly after the start.
