One shot dead

IMPHAL, May 18: Un-known armed miscreant shot dead a 41-year-old man and injured two others today.
The deceased has been identified as Shree Ram Hangsada from Jharkhand.
The incident took place at around 7.30 pm near Nam-bul river bank at Naorem- thong Khumanthem Takyel Kongbal under Lamphel police station in Imphal west.
One of the two injured has been identified as Bittu Murmu (22), son of Sirlal Murmu of Dokaban Village, Jharkhand. He sustained injury on his right hand elbow and left knee.
The other has been identified as Mitalal Soran (50), son of Dorbori Soran of Mukun village, Jharkhand. He sustained injuries on his face and neck. He is said to be in serious condition. The two are presently undergoing treatment at RIMS Hospital. The deceased and the injured persons are stated to be employees of the Keystone company and staying at Naoremthong Khulem Leikai.
Police have recovered some empty bullet cases from the incident site and Lamphel police has registered a case regarding the incident.
