Witnesses urged to depose in three cases of May 2023

IMPHAL, May 19: Lamphel police has urged witnesses to come forward and give statements/evidence in three FIR cases related to rioting and murders in early May 2023.
The first case is related to an incident that occurred at the house of ex-MLA Valte Hangkhalian located at Lamphel Super Market.
The FIR, the police provided, mentions that at around 2 pm of May 4, 2023, unknown agitators numbering 700-900 set on fire "Green Valte" at Lamphel Super Market which is the house of ex-MLA of Churachandpur, Valte Hangkhalian.
It added that the house including private vehicles were damaged and a person was also killed.
The second case is related to a riot that occurred at Langol area on May 5, 2023 that resulted in the injury of a man named Lamminlal Khongsai.
As per the FIR, Lamminlal Khongsai was found lying on the ground with head injury and was brought to Shija Hospital by the Army.
The third case is related to a riot that resulted in the killing of an unknown man at a paddy field at Ghari near Xtra-Edge School on May 6, 2023.
Witnesses may come to Lamphel police station on or before May 30 between 10 am to 3 pm to give their statements/evidence or clues related to the three cases, said the police.
