The Manipur Naga Youth Organisation’s (MNYO) has clarified that the photograph of MNYO's informal sitting with the Arambai Tenggol (AT) officials that went viral on social media with much speculative comments on May 20, 2024 is nothing more than a courtesy visit by the AT officials.
"In the very short cordial meeting that lasted for about 30 minutes, the MNYO and AT informally dwelt on the probable incidents that could arise out of misunderstandings especially in and around Imphal valley between the Meitei and the Naga communities at this given situations in the state of Manipur. There was nothing hidden as such that transpired during the meeting between the MNYO and Arambai Tenggol", said MNYO in a release.
Urging all concerned to not be swayed away easily by mere speculations on the short informal meeting of the youth organisation and Arambai Tenggol, the MNYO mentioned that the meeting was focused on fostering peace among different communities in the Imphal valley area.
The MNYO also asserted that during the meeting, both the parties expressed confidence of bringing the situation to the path of peace and harmony in the interest of the people of Manipur and for the sake of humanity.
"The brief meeting also emphasized the importance of giving respect to each other in building a society for peaceful co-existence", it added.
The MNYO further asserted that it is working tirelessly in the State particularly in Imphal and valley area for every community to live and work freely without any fear or threat.
