Arms, ammos recovered

IMP/CCpur, May 20 : Combined forces of State and Central security personnel have recovered arms and ammunition from Imphal East and Churachandpur district in separate operations.
Acting on specific input, a combined team of Indian Army and Manipur police today launched a search operation at Gwaltabi village in Imphal East and recovered a cache of arms comprising one Improvised Long Range Mortar (Pompi), one .303 Rifle, two 12-bore guns, two hand grenades and other ammunition.
The recoveries were handed over to the Manipur police for further investigation and disposal, said a press release issued by PIB.
In addition, a joint column of Assam Rifles and Churachandpur police recovered a huge cache of arms and explosives in Churachandpur district on May 15.
The recovered items include one Self Loading Rifle (SLR) with magazine, four Single Barrel Rifles, one point 22 Pistol, two improvised heavy mortars and ammunition, said a statement released by IGAR (S).
The recovered items were handed over to Sangaikot police station, Churachandpur.
