IMPHAL, May 20 : St Peter's Higher Secondary School and Anallon Christian Institute have been crowned champions of the Chandel District Level Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournaments for U-17 boys and girls respectively.
St Peter's HSS clinched the U-17 boys title with a 3-0 victory over Maha Union Government Higher Secondary School (MUHGSS) in the title clash this morning.
St Peter's HSS started slowly and went into the break with a 1-0 slender lead courtesy of a 30th minute goal by Changkingam Lukhu before Thesong Federer scored back to back in the 55th and the 60th minutes to seal the comfortable 3-0 victory.
Earlier in the day, Anallon Christian Institute (ACI) also sealed a 3-0 final victory over Koinonia Training School in a one sided encounter.
Both sides headed into the break goalless but ACI shifted gears in the second half and banged home three goals to seal the big win. Mahaila found the breakthrough in the 50th minute before Ningshihring scored back to back in the 53rd and the 56th minutes to round off the game 3-0.
Both the winners will represent Chandel in the State Level Subroto Mukerjee Tournaments.
