Comfortable wins for RCA, Al-Ameen in 1st MNCA U-23 Men's Tournament

IMPHAL, May 21 : RCA, Lilong and Al-Ameen, Lilong emerged victorious in today's matches of the ongoing 1st MNCA U-23 Men's Haobam Biramangol Singh Memorial Tournament 2023-24.
In a Group A match staged at Lairenjam Public Ground, RCA prevailed over KSDO, Kyamgei by 190 runs after posting a commendable total of 259/7 in the allotted 40 overs.
Imran Khan shone with the bat scoring a 121-ball 102 as Syed Hussain 42 and Md Danish Khan 41 made significant contributions to steer RCA to 259.
The innings saw Md Abdul Razaque of KSDO claiming two wickets as four others managed a wicket apiece.
In reply, KSDO faltered and slumped to 69 all out within 18.5 overs as Md Danish Khan (3/15), Naesh Hussain (2/12) and Aziz Mirza (2/14) ran through their line up.
Iliyas and Harvind Naidu also picked a wicket apiece to set up KSDO collapse at 69 with Md Aktar Rahman emerging highest run getter with 12 runs to his name.
Imran Khan was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Secondary School and Oriental College ground, Al-Ameen cruised to a 5-wicket win over Model Club, Singjamei Chingamakha for their second Group B win on the trot.
Model Club won the toss and elected to bat first. They however had a forgettable day and slumped to 81 all out within 32.3 overs as Al-Ameen bowling attack led by Fm Sakil Ahamed (3/10 in 7 overs) and Md Karim (2/13 in 4.3 overs) proved effective.
Irungbam Tonton was the highest run getter on 32 not out for Model Club as the innings concluded. Four other Al-Ameen bowlers were also among wickets in this innings.
In reply, Nawaz struck an unbeaten 62 off 55 balls to steer Al-Ameen to winning 82/5 in 18.5 overs.
Dibak Naorem (2/19), Biyon Naorem (2/39) and Suson Yanglem (1/16) were among the wickets for Model Club.
