IMPHAL, May 21: Shiv Sena, State unit has sought an unequivocal clarification  from the Chief Minister and the Security Advisor on the allegation that Myanmar militants are being used as the cat’s paw to annihilate the insurgent groups of Manipur.
Speaking to media persons at Shiv Sena Bhavan here today, Shiv Sena State unit president M Tombi said that Chief Minister N Biren and Security Advisor Kuldiep  Singh must come out with a clarification on the allegation within 48 hours else the allegation would be taken as truth.
Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh must clarify on NSCN (IM)’s allegation that the Government of India has been aiding Myanmar militants.
“Now there is total anarchy in Manipur and we are living as refugees in our own State” he said.
He questioned why the Government of India has been allegedly aiding Myanmar militants and using them as proxies to annihilate the insurgent groups of Manipur.
Rampant extortion and robbery on National Highways and extensive poppy plantations are all different forms of proxy war, he said. Tombi further alleged that Assam Rifles troops have been protecting Kuki intruders who have started  tilling paddy fields located at peripheral areas belonging to Meiteis.
Pointing out that a kilogram of rice now costs Rs 50 to 60, he wondered what would be the price of rice in December.
It is a matter of utter shame that many well known political leaders are allegedly involved in sex scandals when the State is passing through such a critical phase, he continued.
Tombi said that it’s time to convene an all political party meeting in order to deliberate on the pressing issues of the State.
With the State facing a financial crisis and collapse of law and order, people don’t know who is governing the State at the moment, he added.
