ASSA, PATHAP FC extend winning runs in Tbl Super Division League

IMPHAL, May 23 : ASSA, Sangaiyumpham and PATHAP FC, Lilong extended winning runs to two games in the L Memcha Super Division Football League 2024 organised by District Football Association Thoubal at Kodompokpi ground.
In the 7th match of the tournament, Babur Rayan scored a second half brace to steer ASSA 3-0 past HKKSA, Thoubal in a one sided match. They started slowly and took a slender 1-0 lead with Md Nasir converting a fine chance before Md Babur Rayan scored back to back in the 69th and the 72nd minute to complete the 3-0 rout.
Later in the day, PATHAP FC sealed their second win by beating SYDA, Thoubal Athokpam 1-0. The lone goal that settled the match was scored by BS Warish in the 33rd minute of the match.
It is learnt that the tournament has been stalled until further order due to some unavoidable circumstances. A statement to this effect has been issued by the District Football Association Thoubal.
