IMPHAL, May 23 : Emmanuel English Academy, Yaingangpokpi and Princeton International School, Kshetrigao emerged champions respectively in the 63rd District Level Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournaments for U-17 boys and U-15 girls organised by the District Youth Affairs and Sports Office, Imphal East.
Emmanuel English Academy sealed the U-17 boys title with a 3-0 rout of Kings Way English School, Sanjenthong this afternoon at Langjing football turf courtesy of a double from Perison.
Emmanuel English Academy started positively with a series of incisive runs against Kings Way English School who soaked up all the pressure until Perison ended the goal drought in the 38th minute with a clinical finish.
Ch Gyaneshor joined the party by adding the team's second goal in the 42nd minute before Perison rose to score his second and complete the 3-0 beating.
Meanwhile in the U-15 boys final staged later in the day, Princeton International School defeated Young Pioneer's Academy, Uyumpok by 2-0 goals to seal the top honour. Mahenoi Alam scored the opener in the 8th minute before Khutleiphamsu hit the decisive goal in the 38th minute.
Earlier in the morning semi-final matches, Young Pioneer's Academy outlasted Yourabung HS 2-0 courtesy of goals from Ch Rabichandra (19') and Ng Sanatomba (24') while Princeton International School drubbed Ramananda High School, Angtha by 4-0 goals riding on Ipham Jawet (8'), Irfan Aawet (21'), Sai Frosh (26') and Ipham Jone (38').
The district level champions will represent Imphal East in the State Level Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournaments.
