First ever private hospital opens at Noney

NONEY, May 23 : The first ever private hospital equipped with an operation theatre in Noney district was inaugurated by the Chairman of Hill Areas Committee (HAC) and MLA 54-AC Nungba, Dinganglung Gangmei today.
The private hospital comes under the name Makaam Hospital & Research Institute (MHRI).
The inaugural programme of the 20-bedded hospital was held at MHRI Conference Hall under Noney District Headquarters.
The hospital has started functioning 24x7 from today. Departments of medicine, surgery, orthopedics, gynaecology, pediatrics, eye and skin will be available for treatment and consultation.
Other than Dinganglung Gangmei the programme was attended by the CMO of Noney Dr Zianthuilung Kamei and Ganreipou Gangmei, IRS, Deputy Director of Finance, Government of India as guests of honour.
The 20-bedded private hospital was dedicated by Rev Ngamdisin Kamei Pastor, Longmai-III Baptist Church in the presence of Henry Kaphunjok Gonmei, Chairman, MHRI.
During the inaugural program, Dinganglung Gangmei expressed his delight and stated that the establishment of a new private hospital brings hope and promise of improved healthcare services for the community.
The residents no longer have to travel long distances for medical treatment and it will save time and money, he added.
Dinganglung Gangmei also assured that the road leading to the hospital via Longmai Common  Ground will be blacktopped and equipped with pucca drainage system.
He urged the public to extend their gratitude and support to the healthcare professionals who work tirelessly to save lives and make a difference in the community.
Commemorating the inauguration, MHRI also conducted free keyhole operations on two patients.
The inaugural program was attended by several medical officers, village authority leaders from nearby villages and other prominent leaders including religious leaders, gazetted officers, social and political leaders.
