1st Thoruwl Trophy Futsal TourneyBortha FC, Cheengkhu YC post lopsided victories to progress into last-16

IMPHAL, May 3 : Betuk YC, Hnahringkhu YC, Bortha FC, Cheengkhu YC and Mahenii FC all registered wins to progress into the last-16 stage of the ongoing 1st Thoruwl Trophy Futsal Tournament being organised by the Thoruwl Foundation at Thoruwl Turf, Liwa Sarei in Chandel.
In a Pool A clash, Betuk YC knocked out Liwachangning YCC by 9-6 goals courtesy of Bungkham (11', 14', 17', 30', 32') and William (13', 19', 36', 27'). Ng Kinsha (18', 18', 39') starred with a treble for Liwachangning YCC as Kh Lungshim (10'), Ng Johnson (17') and Kh Giftson (19') scored a goal apiece in a lost cause.
In another Pool A match, Cheengkhu YC demolished Haanthadri FC 22-1 to progress into the pre-quarter finals riding on 8 goals from WL Chana (5', 8', 24', 25', 27', 28', 30', 31').
WL Benoson (9', 4', 26', 29', 31', 33'), TS Ngamhring (3', 7', 11', 23') also contributed 10 goals to Cheengkhu YC's tally as TS Kothelhring (17', 36') and Alpha Tongson (27', 39') netted two goals apiece.
K Ethangam (30') scored the only goal for Haanthadri FC.
In Pool B matches staged in the day, Hnaringkhu YC overwhelmed UNISA 11-2; Bortha FC prevailed 21-5 over Same Place FC and Mahenii FC crushed Reishok FC 9-5 to confirm their places in the pre-quarter finals.
Phowlngam (7', 8', 19', 21') scored four in Hnahringkhu YC's big win as Vachang (29', 30') and PS Changhman (14', 27') scored two goals apiece. Springson (35'), BS John (28') and Ch Thaningam (40') were also on the target for Hnahringkhu YC as Unshangam (26') and Samson (32') scored consolation goals for UNISA.
Meanwhile, Th Milan (3', 8', 10', 11', 18', 26', 28', 28', 37', 40') scored ten goals alone to inspire Bortha FC a huge 21-5 win over Same Place FC. R Beshangam (4', 7', 12', 25', 34', 39') and TS Joyngam (4', 22', 26', 35') meanwhile contributed the other ten goals as Ng Omsha struck one in the 25th minute.
For Same Place FC, KL Harmon (26', 31', 40') scored thrice as HT Khumhrin (10') and WS Dimushing (29') netted a goal apiece.
In the last Group B match of the day, Lightson netted four goals (19', 30', 37', 40'); Thumningchung (9', 28') and Oyai Bon (27', 29') scored two goals each and Koti Bon scored one (31') to hand Mahenii FC a 9-5 win over Reishok FC.
For Reishok FC, Jerimiah scored thrice (2', 6', 20') and Premson (11') and Rengthol (20') scored a goal apiece.
