IMPHAL, May 3 : The Manipur Mixed Martial Art Association (MMMAA) has informed that the a trial selection for Indian team in view of the GAMMA Asian MMA Championship 2024 will be held on May 18 at Calicut, Kerala.
MMMAA, in a release, also added that First North East Zone MMA and Striking MMA Championship-2024 and National Referees/Judges Seminar will be held from June 7 to 9 at DPS, Siliguri, Dagapur in West Bengal.
MMA athletes intending to attend the National team trial and athletes and judges/referees who are intending to participate in the zonal event cum seminar may visit the association office at Khurai Puthiba Leikai for further details or contacted via mobile nos- 7005689003 or 9774172292.
MMMAA further added that Master Thokchom Tarunkumar (Black Belt in Taekwondo) and Master Ch Premchandra (Father of MMA in Manipur) have been appointed as the member and chairman of the technical committee of the association.
Master Tarunkumar entered the field of martial arts in 1989 and has been a notable figure who has not only mastered Taekwondo but also well equipped with knowledge of indigenous martial art-Thang-Ta, MMMAA noted.
MMMAA while extending wishes to Tarunkumar also expressed hope that he will contribute big in promoting MMA in the State and the world.
