State Level Inter Village Volleyball tournament begins

IMPHAL, May 4: 1st State Level Inter Village Volleyball Tournament kicked off today under the aegis of the All Manipur Volleyball Association at Naorem Youth Volleyball Association (NYVA) court at Naorem in Nambol.
The tournament hosted by NYVA features 13 teams clubbed into four groups.
The opening day of the tournament saw PPC, Heibongpokpi defeating hosts NYVA by 3-2 sets.
PPC conceded the first and the fourth sets in this keenly contested Group A clash before emerging 19-25, 25-18, 25-23, 15-25, 15-8 winners.
Meanwhile HVA, Heigrujam registered a walkover win after USWC, Uchiwa failed to turn up in full strength for a Group C match.
Later in a Group D match, WMC, Moidangpok got the better of SWC, Irengbam in straight sets (25-14, 25-13, 25-13) to open their winning account.
