1st Thoruwl Trophy FutsalBrotherhood FC, Pupu Papa and Ruul FC squeeze into pre-quarters

IMPHAL, May 4: Brotherhood FC, Pupu Papa and Ruul FC knocked out their respective rivals to advance to the pre-quarterfinals of the 1st Thoruwl Trophy Futsal Tournament 2024.
Brotherhood FC made it to the last-16 round from Pool A with a close 8-6 win over Monsang Pantha YCC today at Thoruwl Turf.
Servish (2'), Abul (3') and Buk Buk (6', 7') scored back to back to give Brotherhood FC a commanding 4-0 lead before  Damrengcheng (7', 29', 39') netted a treble and Japhet (37') added one to complete the 8-6 beating of Monsang Pantha YCC whose Ng Thomas (18', 19', 25') scored a treble.
W Henry (20'), TS Federer (24') and Ng Borlin (32') also scored a goal apiece for the losing team.
In Pool B matches of the day, Pupu Papa outlasted Paraolon FC 11-5 and Ruul FC edged out Ithimuma FC 8-3.
Pupu PFA notched up the win courtesy of a treble from Anand (10', 30', 37'). Anthot (2', 26'), Mokham (10', 18') and Huten Augustine (20', 36') also scored two goals apiece for Pupu Papa team and Koboy (16') and Tongsin Aarson (16') scored a goal apiece.
Meanwhile for Paraolon FC, Darthot netted thrice (18', 27', 39') as Kowarngam scored twice (34', 35').
Meanwhile, K Shingkham (3', 10', 40') and CH Mothra (16', 26', 26') scored three goals apiece to fire Ruul FC 8-3 past Ithimuma FC. Tongthang (15', 28') scored the other two goals for the winning side as Benny (5'), TS Marson (33') and Joyson (39') scored a goal apiece for Ithimuma FC.
