MSL : NESU beat YPHU 1-0 to cement position on top of Group B

IMPHAL, May 4: North Eastern Sporting Union (NESU), Khurai cemented their position on top of the Group B table in the 16th Manipur State League with a 1-0 beating of YPHU, Lalambung for their fifth win in 6 matches.
The win through a solitary goal scored by Santa Yumlembam in the added time of the first half (45+1') at DSA ground in Kakching not only helped NESU enjoy a commanding 5 point lead against FC Lamjao who are second on 11 points off 6 games but also extend its unbeaten run to 6 games.
Earlier in the day, FC Lamjao registered their third win in 6 games and climbed to second in the Group B table with a 2-0 thumping of TRAU, Kwakeithel.
Irengbam Priyobarta handed FC Lamjao the lead early in the 12th minute before Thounaojam Nilakanta struck the decisive goal late in the 84th minute.
