IMPHAL, May 5 : The final match of the 8th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament organised by the Manipur Cricket Association has been abandoned after heavy rainfall played spoilsport today at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Manipur Cricket Association in a notification said that the final match played between CYCLONE, Thangmeiband and PTRC, Patsoi was stopped after 13.5 overs of the second innings due to heavy rainfall.
The match has been abandoned and will be rescheduled/replayed on a later date, it said.
It further maintained that both the teams will be declared joint winners if the newly scheduled match could not be started once again or is abandoned after commencement due to ground, weather or other conditions.
Notably, PTRC, who were put in to bat first by CYCLONE, were bundled out for a lowly total of 182 runs in 42 overs.
In reply, CYCLONE too did not fare well and were struggling at 29/5 after 13.5 overs before rain interrupted the match.
