IMPHAL, May 5 : Camp commander of banned outfit United Kuki National Army (UKNA) has been allegedly shot dead by his own bodyguard at Geljang village (Old Nabil), near Leimatak, under Henglep police station, Churachandpur district today morning.
The camp commander has been identified as Thangminlal Haokip alias Hunter alias Tamin.
He was the son of late Seisat Haokip, chief of Geljang village.
Sources said Thangminlal Haokip was  allegedly involved in the ghastly attack on oil and gas tankers on Imphal-Jiribam NH-37 near Kaimai on April 16 last.
While the UKNA had claimed responsibility, several tankers were hit and a driver was badly injured in the attack.
