IMPHAL, May 6 : Borth FC defeated Lambung YCC 7-6 in the first Pool B pre-quarter final match of the 1st Thoruwl Trophy Futsal Tournament to reach quarterfinals.
TS Joyngam starred for Bortha FC netting four goals alone (1', 31', 39', 40') as Th Milan scored the other three goals (9', 13', 29').
For Lambung YCC, Kh Mojanghring (12', 33', 36') led the scoring with a treble as Lh Ningthangam (1', 17') scored twice and HL Phantungam (12') added one.
Earlier in the day, The Wanderers, Peaky Brothers registered wins to enter Pool B pre-quarterfinals as Kankhu Athletic FC and Khongjon YC sealed Pool A pre-quarterfinal berths.
The Wanderers made it to the last-16 stage with a 15-3 win over Deagelo FC.
Winkle took centrestage in this one sided encounter scoring five goals alone (4', 5', 10', 15', 13') while Armstrong followed suit with four goals (7', 8', 19', 33'). RL Shetngam, Marconi and Kenedy also added two goals apiece for Wanderers FC as D Rengwin (20', 36') and Lh Gedion (26') found the target for Deagelo FC.
Meanwhile Ahong scored five (1', 2', 2', 13', 24') and Surchan (5', 10') and Taimanhoi (19', 30') scored two goals apiece to inspire Peaky Brothers an easy 11-6 win over Purum Pantha YC.
In the first Pool A match of the day, Kankhu AFC earned a walkover win before Khongjon YC outlasted Reconciliation 11-1.
Kophadeen Roel (6', 10', 15') struck thrice in Khongjon YC's big win as Jupa Roel (12', 14'), Kenphasha Chinir (13', 28'), Angkadensha Roel (26', 32') scored two goals each.
Dearfisha Roel and Amento Ngorun also found their names on the scoresheet for adding a goal apiece.
