Uikey urged to convene meeting of all mothers

IMPHAL, May 6 : Founder, North East India Women Initiative for Peace, Binalakshmi Nepram along with five members called on the Governor at the Raj Bhavan today and requested her to convene a meeting with mothers from all the communities of Manipur for peace initiatives, said PRO Raj Bhavan in a statement.
The team lauded the humanitarian services of the Governor during the strife and for reaching out to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) taking refuge in relief camps.
The Governor, while informing the continuous efforts of her office and Governments towards restoring peace and normalcy in the State, sought suggestions and ground reports of the IDPs staying in relief camps in both hill and valley districts and their required assistance.
Separately, convenor of Parents’ Guardians’ Association of Churachandpur Medical College (CMC) first batch MBBS students, Y Ingochouba Singh called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan today and urged her to look into the grievances of the 2nd Year MBBS students.
Y Ingochouba requested the Governor for providing facilities to the medical students as per the syllabus and guidelines of the NMC and for conducting practical and clinical classes by strictly adhering to the norms laid down by the authorities.
He drew the attention of the Governor to look into the concerns and issue and further requested her to convey the matters to the authorities concerned to take steps at the earliest possible time and give permanent solutions.
The Governor spoke to Chief Secretary Dr Vineet Joshi over phone during the meeting and asked him to address the grievances of the students.
The Governor  further assured assistance from her office in the best interest of the students, and said a joint meeting of all concerned stakeholders will be called for soon.
IAS probationers of 2023 batch Manipur cadre, Arvind Hanglem, Anunay Anand and Aishwarya Dubey also called on the Governor.
The Governor extended her heartiest welcome to the visiting IAS officers and wished them to perform their duty diligently in the interest of the countrymen and to work for the welfare of the Nation.
