AITA Championship Series ImphalStage set for U-14 boys singles semi-finals

IMPHAL, May 7 : The semi-final line up of the AITA Championship Series 7 U-14 boys singles competition being hosted by Imphal District Tennis Association has been completed today.
Iraj Shaw will play Udiit Praghan in the first semi-final match of the U-14 boys singles competition while Enrich Patar and Nomaan Akhtar will face off in the second semi-final match.
Iraj Shaw, who got a first round bye, outlasted Gurumayum Sudarshan 7-5, 6-3 in a keenly contested match before Udiit outlasted Keithellakpam Yohenba 6-4, 0-6, 7-6 (8-6).
Enrich Patar in the meantime eased past Loitongbam Dhanaraj 6-0, 6-1 to set up semi-final date with Nomaan who outclassed Thoudam Singh 6-0, 6-0 in another quarterfinal match.
In the U-16 boys singles competition, Aaditya Sinha, Nishant Bajaj and Enrich Patar sealed semi-final berths.
Aaditya knocked out Gurumayum Sudarshan 6-3, 6-0 in a quarterfinal match as Nishant overcame Maibam Lanchenba (3-6, 7-5, 6-3) and Enrich overwhelmed Raynard Kashyap 6-0, 6-0.
The day also saw completion of U-16 boys doubles competition semi-finals.
In a quarterfinal match, the pair of Enrich and Aaditya eased 6-0, 6-1 past Lotongbam Dhanaraj and Loktongbam Shinngamba.
Meanwhile, Keithellakpam Yohenba and Maibam Lanchenba outlasted Nomaan Akhtar and Jyotishman Kashyap 6-3, 6-2 to set up a semi-final date with Enrich and Aaditya.
The pair of Thoudam Singh and Udiit Praghan got the better of Nongthombam Chingkhei and Irungbam Yoimayai 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 to seal a place in the semi-final.
Meanwhile, Iraj Shaw and Nishant Bajaj completed the semi-final line up with an easy 6-0, 6-2 win over Raynard Kashyap and Gurumayum Sudarshan.
