Senapati Sporting Club emerge District Level Women's Volleyball Tournament champions

Senapati, May 8 : The Senapati Sporting Club emerged champions of the District Level Women's Volleyball Tournament, 2024 that concluded on Wednesday.
 The Assam Rifles in collaboration with Senapati District Volleyball Association organized the much anticipated district level tournament from May 3.
Seventeen teams from various regions of the district enthusiastically participated and displayed praiseworthy sporting skills and determination throughout the competition.
The final match, a thrilling showdown between Senapati Sporting Club and Maram Sisters captivated the audience with its intensity and spirit before it ended in Senapati Sporting Club's way.
Speaking as the chief guest, Col Aditya Deo, Commanding Officer, 16 Assam Rifles, Maram congratulated all the teams who had participated in the tournament.
While noting State's dominance in the field of games and sports, Aditya Deo said that the tournament was organised to promote women athletes of the district.
The Commandant also mentioned that AR is set to help organise a basketball tournament for both the men and women next month emphasizing the importance of sports in fostering community spirit and holistic development.
He also presented trophies and cash prizes to the winners and runners team. The champions team were awarded with a cash prize of Rs 20,000 with a trophy and medals and the runners up were feted with Rs 10,000 along with medals.
Individual prizes were also extended to Ngambila RS of the Maram Sisters who was adjudged the best setter, Lephravine of the Senapati Sporting Club who was adjudged the best spiker and Rinreichon Shangh of the Senapati Sporting Club who was declared player of the tournament.
