IMPHAL, Jun 10 : Yumnam Huidrom Higher Secondary School and Manipur Star Institute (MSI) progressed into the U-17 boys semi-finals in the 63rd District Level Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournaments which kicked off today at Langjing Turf Ground under the aegis of District Youth Affairs and Sports Office, Imphal West.
In a first round clash of the 6-team U-17 boys competition, Yumnam Huidrom HSS knocked out Litter Master HSS 4-0 courtesy of goals from Ch Altaf (24', 30+1'), M Fejul Haque (42') and L Nesten (56').
They will play CT HSS in the first semi-final match tomorrow.
Meanwhile, MSI defeated Kanan Devi Memorial School (KDMS) 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time. Jamesbond (28') scored it for KDMS before Th Rocky (39') equalised for MSI.
MSI will play St Joshep's HSS in the second semi-final match tomorrow.
U-15 boys tournament : BBES, Angahal HSS, Yumnam Huidrom HSS enter semis
Meanwhile in the 7-team U-15 boys tournament, Black Bird English School (BBES), Angahal HSS and Yumnam Huidrom HSS secured first round victories to advance to semi-finals.
In the opening match, BBES edged out KDMS by 2-1 goals thanks to goals from Maichen (8') and Wajit (24') as Arshad Khan (49') scored the lone goal for KDMS.
They will meet MSI in the first semi-final match tomorrow.
Meanwhile in the second match, Angahal HSS defeated Free Progress Academy by 3-1 goals on penalties after a 3-3 draw in the regulation time.
They will play Yumnam Huidrom HSS, who defeated Little Master English HSS 5-0 in the third match today, in the second semi-final match tomorrow.
