FC Kumbi emerge K Babu Memorial Super Division Football League Champions

IMPHAL, Jun 16 : FC Kumbi emerged champions of the 3rd Keisham Babu Singh Memorial Super Division District League 2022-23 organised by the District Football Association, Moirang.
 FC Kumbi thrashed MARD, Moirang 7-3 for their fourth win today in the high scoring ultimate league match of the 6-team tournament.
Kh Yaiphaba and Kh David starred with two goals apiece in this one sided match for FC Kumbi as H Sailesh too found the net twice for the losing team.
FC Kumbi started brightly and entered the break with a 2-0 lead with Kh Rohit (21') and Kh Yaiphaba (30') converting their chances.
They picked up the game from where they left in the second half and rode on Kh David's 46th minute goal to enjoy a 3-0 advantage before Kh Hitler scored another in the 52nd minute to make it 4-0.
MARD however fought back valiantly and pulled back a goal in the 53rd minute through H Sailesh but W Yaiphaba found his second goal the very next minute to retain the four goal advantage for FC Kumbi.
MARD managed to reduce the gap with Kh Somorjit finding the target in the 59th minute but FC Kumbi responded yet again and eased to 6-2 lead through Kh David's second goal in the 68th minute.
Kh Robert further extended FC Kumbi's lead to 7-2 in the 73rd minute before H Sailesh netted his second in the 78th minute to finish the game 3-7.
With the victory, FC Kumbi finished on top with 13 points as AKSA, Kwakta finished second with 11 points from 3 wins and 2 draws. MARD in the meantime finished third with 8 points from 2 wins and 2 draws.
