IMPHAL, Jun 28 : Social Welfare Club (SWC), Waikhong defeated LMLCC, Langmeidong Mamang Leikai by a slender 1-0 margin for their fifth straight win in the 21st Ksh Leihao Devi Memorial Super Division Football League.
With the win SWC-W moved three points clear at the top above YWU, Kakching and SAO, Kakching who are second and third on level 12 points after five rounds. UBSA, Mantak are, meanwhile, at the bottom place of the 8-team league table with zero points having conceded five of five games.
It was a very competitive game as LMLCC looked to carry  forward their momentum after ending three game losing streak on June 24 with a 3-0 win over KMSWC while high flying SWC-W looked to bolster their title hopes having registered four straight victories.
With defence on both ends doing their best in the earlier proceedings, the two sides entered into the break goalless. SWC-W however had a good start after the changeover and managed to put their nose ahead with Kh Priyokumar finally breaking the deadlock.
LMLCC tried to salvage a draw with some close calls but SWC-W defence emerged on top and eventually SWC-W walked away with their fifth win.
