AAM names five for Youth Athletics Nationals

IMPHAL, Jun 2 : The Athletics Association of Manipur (AAM) has announced the names of five athletes who will be representing Manipur at the 19th National Youth Athletics Championships 2024 to be held at Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh from June 15 to 17.
The athletes were selected as per the recommendation of the selection committee of the Athletics Association of Manipur and by virtue of their performances in the recently concluded 43rd State Age Group Athletics Championships, said the association in a statement.
The players who made it to the State squad are Sagolshem Rishan Meitei of MSC for 1000 m race event; Elangbam Gungcha of MSC for 5000 m race walk; Resonath Thangjam of CWC for 100 m race and 200 m race; Takhellambam Johnson of CWC for 200 m race and 400 m race and Nongthombam John ow CWC for 200 m race and 400 m race.
The team will be led by Huidrom Herojit as coach.
