State Pencak Silat team for Senior National C'ships named

IMPHAL, Jun 2 : The Pencak Silat Association of Manipur has named the State team for the 12th Senior National Pencak Silat Championship 2024-25 to be hosted by the Odisha Pencak Silat Association under the aegis of Indian Pencak Silat Federation.
The championship will run from June 10 to 13 at Indoor Sports Complex, KIIT University in Bhubaneswar.
As per the selection order issued by the State association five male and six female athletes will be competing in the artistic events.
The male athletes include Naorem Boynao (solo creation); A Rohit Meetei for Tungal (Tungal); Sinam Chingkhei and Sinam Jeevan (both Gandha and Regu) and Yaikhom Rohit (Regu Male) while the female athletes announced include Th Dyalakhsmi Chanu, Thokchom Benao Chanu and Leishangthem Sophia for Gandha; Thounaojam Rita , Hijam Merina and Leishangthem Sophia for Regu and Dolley Leishangthem for Tungal.
Meanwhile, 11 male and 7 female athletes were named for tanding. The players are as follows.
Male : Sinam Ranjan (U-45 kg), Y Rohit (45-50 kg), S Amarjit (50-55 kg), P Victor (55-60 kg), E Dinesh (60-65 kg), S Pari (65-70 kg), S Deva (70-75 kg), A Rohit (75-80 kg), K Premkumar (80-85 kg), Y Sumanta (85-90 kg) and N Dhanabir (90-95 kg).
Female : Th Rita Chanu (45-50 kg), Kh Tombi (50-55 kg), H Merina (55-60 kg), S Sophia (60-65 kg), S Roshni (65-70), N Premila (70-75) and Dolley Leishangthem (U-45 kg).
Further, L Ranjit, M Robindro and L Shyamkumar were named as team coach, assistant coach and team manager respectively.
