Junior TennisN Chingkhei clinches U-12 boys singles title

IMPHAL, Jun 8: Nongthombam Chingkhei clinched the U-12 boys singles title in the 20th Governor's Trophy Junior Tennis Championship 2024 at Officers' Club Tennis Complex, Lamphelpat today.
Chingkhei overwhelmed Yoimayai 9-6 to seal the title of the age category today.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Chingkhei had defeated Thoudam Rancher 9-1 while Yoimayai edged out Suhaan Kalam 9-6 to complete the final line up.
Meanwhile Shelza Asem claimed the U-10 girls singles title today by defeating Y Gucci 9-7 in a keenly contested final match.
Suhaan Kalam Khuleibam in the meantime clinched the U-10 boys singles title with a 9-2 win over Korou Keisham in the final match.
Gucci vs Shelza in U-12 girls final
Yumnam Gucci will face off against Shelza Asem in the title clash of the U-12 girls singles final tomorrow .
Gucci made her way to the final with a 7-3 win over RK Valeska in a semi-final clash today while Shelza completed the line up with a 4-2 win over RK Gracy who had to retire midway.
K Yohenba vs Sudarshan in U-14 boys singles title clash
The final line up for the U-14 boys singles competition was also completed today with K Yohenba and G Sudarshan securing easy semi-final victories.
Yohenba pulled off a 9-1 win over Dhanraj in a semi-final match to confirm his final ticket while Sudarshan eased 9-2 past Chingkhei in another semi-final match.
