IMPHAL, Jul 9 : LYA, Wangoo pulled off a massive 12-0 win over UBSA, Mantak as SWC-Keirak defeated LMLCC, Langmeidong in a 5-goal thriller in their ultimate matches of the ongoing 21st Ksh Leihao Devi Memorial Super Division Football League.
In the 26th match of the tournament staged this afternoon, SWC-K and LMLCC produced a competitive encounter but SWC-K emerged the luckier side despite LMLCC's late fightback.
SWC-K enjoyed a slight dominance from the beginning and went ahead after 13 minutes courtesy of M Shital before Ch Rohit converted a penalty for LMLCC the next minute to restore parity. M Shital however scored his second to regain the lead for SWC-K in the 17th minute.
After enjoying a 2-1 first half lead, SWC-K extended their lead to 3-1 thanks to Y Avinash Meitei in the 70th minute before Ch Naresh scored LMLCC's second goal three minutes into the stoppage time to make the final scoreline read 2-3.
Later in the day, UBSA had a nightmarish ending to their campaign as LYA came out all guns blazing to devastate them 12-0.
A Narendra took centre-stage as he scored six goals alone including the opener (19', 40+2', 41', 50', 61', 63') while P Goutam (40', 80+1') and S Yaiphaba (53', 60') scored two goals apiece. William (64') and A Manimatum (80+2') in the meantime contributed a goal apiece to set up the huge win.
YWU, Kakching will play SWC-Waikhong in the ultimate league match of the tournament on July 12.
