All India Inter SAI Sepaktakraw SAI-STC Imphal win women's team event title

IMPHAL, Jul 2 : Hosts SAI-STC, Imphal emerge women's team event champions in the All India Inter SAI Sepaktakraw Tournament.
The tournament organised by SAI-NERC, Imphal was opened today at SAI-STC, Khuman Lampak in the presence of Maibam Ramani, Centre In-Charge, SAI-STC, Imphal; Laijing L Maring, Assistant Director (P&A), SAI, NERC, Imphal and Kh Dorendra, president All Manipur Sepaktakraw Association (AMSTA) as dignitaries.
Teams from SAI-STC Imphal, Dimapur, Bareilly, Delhi and Khelo India Centre (KIC), Imphal East are competing in different events for senior and junior age groups.
In the two team senior women's team event, SAI-STC Imphal defeated Khelo India Centre (KIC), Imphal East 2-0 to seal the top honour.
SAI-STC, Imphal topped the first regu 15-11, 15-10 before securing 15-6, 15-11 win in the second regu to register 2-0 win over KIC, Imphal East.
Meanwhile in the men's team event league round opening match, STC Imphal defeated STC Dimapur 3-0 (15-13, 15-11; 15-12, 15-10; 15-8, 15-9).
In the second match, STC Bareilly also secured a 3-0 win over STC Delhi before STC Imphal posted a second win by beating KIC, Imphal East 3-0.
In the fourth match, STC Bareilly defeated STC Dimapur by 2-1 regus while KIC, Imphal East defeated STC Delhi 3-0 in the fifth match.
In the 6th match, STC Imphal defeated STC Bareilly 3-0 before STC Dimapur defeated STC Delhi 3-0.
In the 8th match, KIC, Imphal East defeated STC Dimapur 3-0 (15-13, 15-5 in first regu; 15-9, 10-15, 15-10 in second regu and 16-17, 15-10, 15-11 in the third regu) before STC Imphal defeated STC Delhi 3-0 (15-11, 17-16 in first regu; 15-6, 15-4 in second regu; 15-9, 15-6 in the third regu) in the 9th match.
In the final league match, KIC, IE defeated STC Bareilly 3-0 (15-10, 15-13 in first regu; 15-11, 15-10 in the second regu and 17-14, 15-11 in the third regu) to finish league runners up and set up final date with SAI STC Imphal.
