AIFA edge past DYA in KK Memorial 1st Division Football League

IMPHAL, Jul 8 : AIFA, Irengband edged past DYA, Elangkhangpokpi 2-1 to cap their 20th KK Memorial 1st Division Football League Tournament 2024 campaign with two wins.
AIFA, who had won once and drew once in four previous games of the 6-team league tournament organised by the DSA Kakching, fought back from a goal down to seal the 2-1 win courtesy of Renedy at DSA Kakching ground.
DYA went ahead courtesy of N Rohijit in the 27th minute but Renedy pulled level for AIFA within 10 minutes to enter into the break with the score split at 1-1.
Renedy scored his second in the 61st minute to turn things around in AIFA's favour and eventually the team saw out the game with the same scoreline by soaking up late DYA pressure.
SDO, Pallel will face off against Sugnu FC (SFC) in the top of the table contest and ultimate match on July 11.
