
Ukhrul, Aug 12 : In a tragic turn of event, a minor boy was killed on the spot while his two sisters were injured when a retaining wall collapsed at Hamleikhong B-1 Ukhrul today at about 4 pm.
The deceased boy has been identified as Tharchuilan Lunghar aged 18 months while the injured girls are Ringsik Lunghar 6 years and Chishing Lunghar 9 years. All are children of Hormi Lunghar of Tushar village, a resident of Hamleikhong B-1, Ukhrul.
The two injured girls were immediately rushed to District Hospital located at Hungpung, Ukhrul.
Ukhrul police rushed to the spot led by OC Chuingam Ningshen to take the stock of the incident.
As news of the tragedy spread, it has left the people of Ukhrul in a state of shock and disbelief with many asking whether a proper inquiry would be conducted to see if any safety measures with regard to the construction of the wall were flouted or not.
