AMBBA to fete bodybuilding icon Arambam Boby

IMPHAL, Aug 17 : The All Manipur Body Builders Association (AMBBA) is set to felicitate 8-time Mr World Arambam Boby who was recently conferred "Presidential Gold Order" by the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (WBPF).
The felicitation programme will begin tomorrow at 10 am at the conference hall of the Manipur Olympic Association, Khuman Lampak.
"Gold Order and WBPF Diploma of Coaching" was conferred upon India's bodybuilding icon on August 9 in Batam, Indonesia by ABBF and WBPF in recognition of his dedication, perseverance and contributions to the bodybuilding.
It is the first time for a bodybuilder to receive such a prestigious honour, AMBBA said.
Notably, 49 year old Boby, who earned the nickname " Golden Boy of India" retired from competitive bodybuilding in 2019 with an illustrious career studded with 8 Mr World titles besides National, sub-continental, continental titles. After retiring from his Railways' job in 2021, he opened his own gym- "Boby's Golden Fitness Gym" at Langthabal Kunja Mayai Leikai and has been grooming young bodybuilders in the State.
