WMC Tripura Unit fetes students, achievers

AGARTALA, Aug 18: The World Meetei Council (WMC) Tripura State Unit feted meritorious students and achievers in different fields at the Press Club at Agartala today.
WMC CEC vice chairman Dr KN Chand, Tripura University Vice-Chancellor Prof Ganga Prasad Prasain, senior social sector leader Mutum Biswanath, WMC Tripura Unit president H Bankim Singha attended the event as dignitaries.
The gathering observed a minute of silence as a mark of respect for people who have been killed in the ongoing Manipur crisis.
While many meritorious students who have cleared the Class X and Class XII examinations with flying colours were feted, the gathering honoured Sahitya Akademi awardee Sorokkhaibam Gambhini, National Handloom Award winner Soubam Nirmala, renowned bodybuilder and Mr Universe IFFB 2023 Dr Vishal Sinha, prominent Chess player Umashankar Dutta (winner of Tripura State Rapid Tournament 2023), Artist and Nrityaguru RK Bhramarjit Singha (Lali Sana) and Gymnast Mayengbam Ajay Singha (PhD Degree in Physical Education).
The students who were feted included Class X--Aneek Dutta, Nilam Singha, Aryan Singh, Nayanita Singha, Sanghamitra Singha, and Class XII--Anushree Devi, Priya Singha, Hrishikesh Singha, Barnali Singha and Nikita Sharma.
Class X
Aneek Dutta secured 97.4% (CBSE) with 100 % in Mathematics
Nilam Singha secured 94.6% (CBSE) with 100 % in Mathematics
Aryan Singh secured 94.6% (TBSE)
Nayanita Singha secured 92.6% (TBSE)
Sanghamitra Singha secured 91.4% (CBSE)
Class XII
Anushree Devi secured 96.4% Arts (CBSE) with 100% in Bengali
Priya Singha secured 77% in Arts (TBSE)
Hrishikesh Singha secured 73.8% in Arts (CBSE)
Barnali Singha secured 72% in Science (TBSE)
Nikita Sharma secured 70.8% in Science (CBSE)
