Sub-Jr and Junior Aquatic NationalsAthouba on roll, clinches second gold medal

IMPHAL, Aug 7 : Koijam Athouba stretched Manipur's gold medal haul in the ongoing 40th Sub-Junior and 50th Junior National Aquatic Championships as he won his second gold medal today in Group III Boys 100 m freestyle swimming.
Having opened Manipur's gold medal account yesterday in the 200 m freestyle competition of the championship at Aquatic Complex of Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Koijam Athoiba sealed the 100 m event taking 59.68 seconds today.
The day also saw Laitonjam Lanchenba, who bagged the 100 m butterfly stroke gold medal yesterday for Group II Boys, settle for a silver medal in the 50 m butterfly stroke competition. He finished second with a time of 27.02 seconds.
