2nd edition of Senapati District Veteran Football tournament commences

Senapati, Sep 25 : The 2nd edition of Senapati District Veteran Football tournament-2024 commenced at Astro Turf Ground, Senapati.
The event is organised by the Senapati District Veteran Football Association in collaboration with the Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur (SDOAM) under the sponsorship of Dynamic Longevity, Nivia and Lloyd.
The Senapati District Veteran Football Association was founded in 2023 under the theme, "Aging gracefully with good health" and has been organising an annual tournament like this every year in order to keep all veterans of the district fit and strong and to age gracefully with good health. 19 different teams (clubbed into four pools) from across the district are participating in the tournament.
Katomei Area Veteran FC, Vaki Veteran FC, Raimai Veteran FC, Khaomatei Veteran FC and Oklong Veteran FC are clustered in Pool A while Pool B comprises Taphou Veteran FC, Khyouchi Veteran FC, Tungjoy United Veteran FC, Arufii Veteran FC and Proumai Veteran FC.
United Veteran FC Mao, Northern Maram Veteran FC, Karong Union Veteran FC, Makhrelui Veteran FC and Willong Veteran FC are in the meantime drawn in Pool C while Pool D consists of Southern Naga Veteran FC, TNK Veteran FC, Heudu Veteran FC and Bluebird Veteran FC.
The inaugural session of the tournament was graced by Heshu Choro, President, Senapati District Badminton Association (SDBA) as special guest. Having inspected both the teams in the first match, the special guest declared the match open.
The tournament will run till October 7.
