IMPHAL, Sep 28 : Social Welfare Club, Waikhong (SWC-W) pulled off a commanding 5-1 win over UCC, Kakching in an intense semi-final match to stroll into the final of the 18th DSA Trophy Football Tournament.
SWC-W will meet the Social Welfare Club, Keirak (SWC-K) in the title clash. The final date is yet to be decided.
The day saw A Bisan lead the scoring by netting twice to ensure SWC-W enter the break with a huge 4-0 lead before S Borish scored the decisive goal in the second half.
Bisan found the lead after 9 minutes of the play before his teammate M Ronit doubled the advantage in the 21st minute. A Bishan scored his second to make it 3-0 after 25 minutes before L Suranjoy further extended their lead to 4-0 with an added time goal (45+3').
SWC continued to press hard after the restart despite enjoying a huge lead and saw S Borish netting the team's fifth in the 68th minute.
H Manithoi managed to score a goal for the Kakching side in the 71st minute before the match got physical and saw both teams losing a player each in the last 10 minutes. SWC-W lost L Sanju off a second yellow card in the 82nd minute before L Ronit of UCC had the same fate four minutes later.
Yesterday, SWC-K pulled off an identical 5-1 win over YWU, Kakching in the first semi-final match to deservingly book their place in the final.
