IMPHAL, Sep 4 : Matrix Fight Night-15's bantamweight champion Chungreng Koren returned to a warm reception as he landed here at Bir Tikendrajit Airport today.
The reception/felicitation organised by the Koren (Koireng) Youth Organisation, Manipur (KYO-M) was also joined by leaders of village authorities of Kamu Koirang village, members of local club and women society beside KYO-M president RN Boipu.
Notably, Chungreng became the undisputed bantamweight champion at the MFN 15 by defeating Karnataka's Kantharaj Agasa in the second round via TKO on August 31 at Indoor Stadium, greater Noida.
His achievement in the field of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) at the prestigious platform has brought immense joy to the State and the North East region, said KYOM in a statement.
Despite being born to a poor family of a minority community in the State, Chungreng Koren has completed many milestones thanks to his firm determination, dedication and sacrifice, noted KYO-M while extending best wishes for his future endeavours.
