MR man kills self

IMPHAL, Sep 4: One Rifleman of 8th Manipur Rifles allegedly committed suicide, shooting himself with his service weapon at around 9.30 pm on September 3.
The deceased has been identified as DB Pouhuai Lamkang (29) s/o DB Shetit Lamkang of Charangching Khunou village.
Sources said that Rifleman DB Pouhuai Lamkang was on sentry duty at gate number 2 of the 8th MR’s Leikun camp in Chandel when he shot himself dead.
Soon after the incident, a team of Chandel police station and forensic experts rushed to the spot and carried out an inquest of the dead body and its surrounding areas.
The dead body was handed over to family members after post mortem at JNIMS Hospital this afternoon, said the sources.
