I-League 3 2024-25 KLASA rout Bhuna FC 8-0 as SSU thump Corbett FC 2-0

IMPHAL, Sep 5 : Keinou Library & Sports Association (KLASA) kicked off their I-League 3 campaign with a 8-0 rout of Bhuna FC as Souther Sporting Union (SSU) bounced back from the first game loss to thump Corbett FC 2-0.
At TRC turf in Srinagar, SSU who suffered a 1-2 loss to Charutar Vidya Mandal FC in the Group E opening match, recovered well to pull off a 2-0 win over 9-man Corbett FC, Uttarakhand this morning despite being reduced to 10-man at halfway mark.
SSU went ahead after 26 minutes thanks to Laishram Kishan's strike before the game intensified towards the breather and saw Corbett FC's Jagannath Araon and SSU's Ningombam Kabiraj being sent off three minutes into the added time.
Corbett FC suffered further setback as they were reduced to 9-man losing Yumnam Arnold in the 55th minute off a red card thereby giving SSU the numerical superiority.
SSU then made the most of the chances and doubled the advantage after 78 minutes thanks to Laishram Roshan who came off the bench after the halfway break.
SSU then held on to their lead to seal their first three points in the fourth tier National level club tournament.
SSU will play Abbas Union Football Club, Hyderabad in the next match on September 9 at TRC Turf.
Meanwhile, KLASA came out all guns blazing to kick off their Group D campaign with an emphatic 8-0 win over Bhuna FC based in Haryana at KASA football ground in Diphu, Assam.
KLASA entered into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead courtesy of goals from K Lamnganba (10') and Ngangom Ronald (44') before slotting home 6 goals in the second half to devastate Bhuna FC 8-0.
Khangembam Prabin scored the team's third goal in the 53rd minute before Dangmei Gaipuilan (82') and Ningthoujam Momocha (83') made it 5-0 to pile further misery against the Haryana side. The Keinou team kept the pressure intact despite enjoying a comfortable lead and rode on a quickfire double from Th Manichand (89', 90') to make it 7-0 before Huidrom Torres hit the final nail to the coffin three minutes into the stoppage time.
KLASA will face Kenkre FC, Mumbai in the next match on September 7 at the same stadium. The match starts at 2 pm.
