Sub-Jr Basketball C'ships Model Club to square off against YOSC in boys' title clash

IMPHAL, Sep 5 : Model Club, Chingamakha will lock horns with YOSC, Khurai in the boys title clash of the 37th State Sub-Junior Basketball Championships being organised by the Manipur Basketball Association at Brahmapur Nahabam Basketball Court.
Model Club booked their place in the final with a comprehensive 57-26 win over Sainik School, Pangei while YOSC completed the final line up a huge 68-10 win over ESU, Wangkhei.
In the first semi-final match, Model Club produced a dominating performance to lead the first quarter 15-7 before adding 19 more poinst against Sainik School's 6 in the second period to enjoy a 34-13 lead at halfway mark thanks to Gison Th and Sotindrachan.
Model Club carried forward their momentum to take a 17-7 lead in the third quarter before both the sides added 6 points apiece in the final quarter.
Gison Th finished with the highest score of 20 points as Sotindrachan followed suit with 12 points. A Phoenix and A Shatish also grabbed 8 points apiece to swell the team's tally as W Yohenba added 3 and the trio of N Lanchenba, I Keilung and H Angamba scored 2 points apiece.
For Sainik School, Paras (12 pts) and Bojao (11 pts) made major contributions as Haridash scored 3 points.
Later in the second semi-final match, Bidyaraj scored 22 points while Roosevelt, Ngangkham, and Ng Lancheba scored 14, 13 and 12 points to set up the massive 68-10 win for YOSC against ESU.
Kelvin (6 pts) and W Lanchenba (1 pt) also contributed in YOSC's big win as Geetchandra (5 pts), Salai (2 pts), Bronson (2 pts) and Pangakpa (1 pt) found their names on the scoresheet for ESU.
YOSC will play RKSDV will play in the girls' final tomorrow from 3.30 pm onwards before YOSC face Model Club in the boys' final from 4.30 pm onwards.
