YWU, UCC victorious in 18th DSA Trophy Invitation Football Tournament

IMPHAL, Sep 6 : Youth Welfare Union (YWU), Kakching and Uyok Chingya Club (UCC), Kakching posted comfortable wins today as the 18th DSA Trophy Invitation Football Tournament 2024 resumed after more than two weeks at DSA playground.
In the first Group B and tourney's fourth match, YWU came out all guns blazing to romp 5-0 past AKSA, Kakching Khunou.
K Langamba and Y Dayananda took their turns to score in the 7th and the 18th minute to hand YWU a 2-0 first half lead before Pravin of AKSA conceded an own goal in the 65th minute to make it 3-0.
I Priyobarta further extended the lead to 4-0 after 70 minutes before Th Amarjit slammed home the final goal in the 77th minute.
Later in a Group D match, UCC pulled off a 5-3 win over KMSWC, Keirak thanks to a treble from M Devaraj (38', 72', 77) and a double from Sh Malemnganba (5', 49').
For KMSWC, Sanman (26') and Rajkhan (40') were on target as the other goal came in the form of an own goal when UCC's Kh Dipson fumbled in the 78th minute.
