Veteran Cricket YUCC beat Model Club by 6 runs to boost QF hopes

IMPHAL, Jan 10 : YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel boost their quarterfinal hopes in the ongoing 21st Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament as they beat Model Club, Chingamakha by 6 runs for the third win in four Group B matches.
YUCC amassed 178 runs losing all the wickets in 29.5 overs at Langthabal Public Ground after electing to bat first and withheld Model Club to 172/6 courtesy of frugal bowling performances from the bowling department to seal the narrow win.
Md Noushad blazed 62 off 57 runs for YUCC as Bishwajit added 23 runs, and three batters- P Bidison, Risk and Abdul Khalique added identical 14 runs apiece in the innings that saw Rajkumar Jotish (4/27), Devan (3/36) and Saratchandra (2/47) excel with the ball for Model Club.
In reply, Syed Mujibur scored an unbeaten 78 off 88 balls  while Iboyaima made 30 runs. But their efforts were not enough as they ended up gathering 172 runs.
Abdul Khalique (3/37) led the YUCC bowling attack as Md Noushad (1/25) and Manikumar (1/25) chipped in with a wicket apiece.
Md Noushad Ali of YUCC who added 62 runs and picked a wicket, was adjudged man of the match.
