Manipur emerge overall team champions of 2nd National Senior Sarit-Sarak Federation Cup 2025

IMPHAL, Sep 30 : Manipur emerged the champions of 2nd National Senior Sarit-Sarak Federation Cup 2025 organised by the Sarit-Sarak Federation of India at Assam’s Singhaduwar Manipuri Community Hall, Sivasagar, Assam.
Manipur secured 64 points off 11 gold and 3 silver medals to seal the overall title in the three day event as hosts Assam secured 47 points off 3 gold, 9 silver and 5 bronze medals to finish first runners up.
Sarit Sarak Swadeshi Martial Art Association, Haryana in the meantime finished second runners up on 36 points off 4 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze medals in the competition participated by 24 men and 17 women athletes from across 7 State units.
The closing function cum felicitation programme was attended by Surobhi Rajkumari, Chairman of OBC, Govt of Assam as chief guest; Nameirakpam Jiban, president Sarit-Sarak Federation of India as functional president; Bashanta Gogoi, president All Tai Ahom Students’ Union, Assam and Punaram Milli, president Sivasagar Sports Association, Assam as guests of honours.
Final Day Highlight
The last day of the competition saw Manipur athletes securing five gold and 2 silver medals in Chainaba Anisuba competition as Haryana earned 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals. Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra also secured a gold medal apiece today.
In the women’s -55 kg category competition, Manipur’s Ningthoujam Thoisana bagged the gold medal by defeating Assam’s Moirangmayum Riya in the final. Vidya Ambadas Sakhare of Maharashtra settled for the bronze medal in the competition.
Haobam Sanuta of Manipur extended Manipur’s medal tally by securing women’s 55 kg category gold medal by beating Assam’s Potyakhi Gogoi in the final.
Haryana’s Mehak in the meantime sealed the -60 kg category gold medal by getting better of Sneha Laxminaran Boddu in the final as Rohini Patel of Uttar Pradesh beat Riya Borguhain of Assam for the -65 kg category gold and Sajivani Bharat Nadgam of Maharashtra beat Assam’s Khundrakpam Papori Chanu for the +65 kg category gold medal.
Elangbam Joichand in the meantime sealed the men’s -55 kg category gold medal by defeating Suprotim Gogoi of Assam in the final.
Haryana’s Deepak on the other hand claimed -60 kg category gold by defeating Ksh Tomthin of Manipur before his compatriot Mann sealed another gold medal by getting better of Maibam Ahongjao in the -65 kg category final.
Huidrom Hennithoi of Manipur then sealed the -70 kg category gold medal by beating Assam’s Abhishek Singh before Laishram Prithibiraj sealed the +70 kg category gold by defeating Rohit of Haryana in the final.
