An Inter-School Football Tournament began yesterday at Common Ground, Longmai, Noney District.
The tournament is being organised as a part of the Khelo India campaign by the 86 Bn CRPF under the aegis of IG, CRPF M&N Sector with the aims of promoting sportsmanship, fitness, and youth engagement, while also strengthening the bond between the security forces and the local community.
Namsadai Peter, SP Noney, attended the inaugural function as the chief guest who also declared the tournament open in the presence of Ravindra Kumar, 2-I/C & officers of 86 Bn CRPF, leaders of the Longmai Student’s Union and representatives from various civil society organizations.
A total of 8 teams from different schools in the Noney area are participating in the tournament which will run till October 11.
In the opening match, EEV registered a convincing 5-0 victory over Tazei Public Higher Secondary School, said a press release issued by W Nandini, Second in Command, 86 Bn CRPF.
