KOHIMA, Oct 14: The Naga People's Front (NPF) has "officially" joined the People's Democratic Alliance (PDA) Government of Nagaland with effect from today.
"In exercise of the powers conferred by Clause 10 of Article V of the party's constitution, the president of the Naga People's Front (NPF) hereby promulgates this ordinance to the effect that the NPF shall officially join the People's Democratic Alliance (PDA) government under the leadership of Dr. Neiphiu Rio, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Nagaland", an office memorandum issued by Achumbemo Kikon, who is MLA and also secretary general of the NPF, said today. "This ordinance comes into effect from the forenoon of October 14, 2025", the office memorandum added.
This latest development came amid the process of the merger of the NPF and the ruling NDPP in Nagaland.
Few days ago, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, who is leader of the NPF Legislature Party, had stated that the proposed merger of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) and the Nationalist Democratic People's Party (NDPP) is becoming a reality.
He had this during the NPF's "special prayer programme" held on October 10 at its central office in Kohima.
