One drowns

THOUBAL, Oct 21: A young man of 20 drowned in a water-body at Heirok Part-II this afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Sapam Dalin Singh (20), son of S Kumar Singh of Papal Maning Leikai.
The incident occurred at around 1.15 pm at the Melei Tampak, Heirok Part-II.
The 20-year-old and some of his friends had visited Thamlai, a village nearby for a picnic before visiting the water body at Heirok Part-II.
Dalin and his friends were taking pictures on the bank of the water body when he suddenly disappeared.
Suspecting he may have fallen into the water, a frantic search for him began.
Dalin was retrieved from the depth of the water some time later, and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.
