IMPHAL, Oct 24 : MLA Kh Joykisan has underscored the importance of preserving and promoting indigenous faith and culture.
A newly constructed temple of lord Thangchi Ngangoi Ningthou and Ima Khunthokhanbi was inaugurated today near DM University Gate.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Joykisan called upon all the people to support each other in every positive action taken up by any one.
He also called upon each and every citizen to take due responsibility towards bringing peace and normalcy and putting the State on a higher trajectory of development.
There are many people who are acting like Nationalists or ultra Nationalists on social media without doing anything on the ground.
It’s time for all the people to do something for the good of the Nation instead of limiting oneself to impressive rhetoric or lip service, Joykisan said.
He said that it is the bounden duty of every Meitei to preserve and promote the indigenous faith and culture.
He said that he took key roles in the construction and development of several sacred sites and shrines not only inside Thangmeiband Assembly segment but also in different parts of Manipur.
Joykisan said that construction of roads in Thangmeiband AC has already started and construction of drains would be starting soon.
He also asked all the residents of Thangmeiband AC to inform him if tap water is still inaccessible to them.
Due to leakage of pipe at Iroisemba which are feeding water from Singda Dam, Kangchup to reservoirs in Thangmeiband AC, tap water could not be supplied to some areas.
Nonetheless, a limited volume of water is being supplied to these areas after drawing water from Chingkhei Ching reservoir.
Saying that the damaged pipes are being repaired, the MLA said that the areas which are getting limited volume of tap water at the moment will get ample volume of water within the month of November.
DM University Vice Chancellor Prof W Chandbabu and many functionaries of Thangmeiband United Club and Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation were also present at the inaugural function.
Later, the gathering enjoyed a feast.
